FAQ
How long does it take for a commission?
It depends. Average time is 3-6 weeks from inquiry to finished portrait, so advance notice is needed. Busier times of year, such as the holidays, may require more time.
What materials do you use?
I use professional grade archival materials which means your portrait will last many generations with appropriate care. I create your painting with archival paper, professional grade soft pastels and pastel pencils.
Do you ship pet portraits?
Yes, this is available but will cost additional to the prices above. We can discuss the options. If you are local to the Kansas city area, I provide free delivery.
What if I want my pet portrait to be framed?
Portraits can be framed, but costs can vary due to frames, mats, and glass preferences. Please e-mail me to discuss options and costs.
What do you need in a good reference photograph?
Natural lighting is preferred. The face needs to be in focus and I prefer to have a full front perspective in addition to a side perspective. I can provide examples. Proper lighting is the most important component.
